Michigan Merit Exam

This assessment combines the ACT, Work Keys, and Michigan Dept. of Education Standards to assess math, reading, writing, science and social studies in the spring of junior year.

Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test

The PSAT/NMSQT is a multiple-choice test that measures developed verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities important for academic performance in college.

American College Testing Program (ACT)

The ACT is a comprehensive timed test taken by students usually during their junior year. This test is viewed by most colleges as an important part of a student's portfolio along with GPA (grade point average) to gain admittance to a post-secondary educational institution. This test can be retaken. With a qualifying score, a student is eligibile for the Michigan Competitive Scholarship.

SAT I - Reasoning Test

The SAT is a three hour, primarily multiple-choice test measuring verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities.

SAT II - Subject Tests

The SAT II subject tests are one-hour primarily multiple-choice tests in specific subjects.
Few undergraduate schools require sat testing for admission. Discuss your needs with a counselor prior to registration.

Advanced Placement

(ACT) Plan Test

A battery of tests in math, reading, and science reasoning intending to measure the academic skills and abilities developed through the first stages of secondary education. This elective test is best taken during the spring of the sophomore year. This test may qualify a student for dual enrollment at the local community college.
