and the OSCAR goes to...

Optimist Student Challenge: All-Star Readers

Every Foster Elementary third grade child has the opportunity to become involved in the highly successful Optimist Student Challenge: All-Star Readers (OSCAR) program.  Students involved in this program are mentored, in reading, by top-notch adults from around the community.  The students give up one recess a week to work with their mentors for a duration of five weeks.  At the end of the five weeks, students are rewarded with an OSCAR ceremony and pizza party.  During the ceremony each student will receive an OSCAR trophy with their name on it and a book of their very own.  This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to grow as readers.
