Welcome to Lakeview Elementary! Lakeview is a kindergarten through second grade elementary school located at 502 W. Haight Street just four blocks from beautiful Lake Michigan in Ludington. We are a small family-oriented school where we partner with families to provide a well rounded education for our students.
The staff and students at Lakeview Elementary take great pride in academics and extracurricular activities and are committed to preparing each of our students in all content areas for the global community, equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for success. We strive daily to create a rigorous academic environment while ensuring systems are in place to meet each child’s academic, social and emotional needs. We offer many differentiated opportunities for students which you may view in detail in our Points of Pride. We strive to help each student SOAR at Lakeview through educational routines that promote Safety, Outstanding respect, And Responsibility.
Lakeview is on the cutting edge of technology and we are proud to offer 1:1 iPad devices to enhance the curriculum. Each student uses technology to receive instruction, individual practice as well as create and access information. We are excited to offer a roving Chromebook Lab to students in classrooms this school year.
We have a very active Parent Teacher Committee that provides financial and volunteer support for all student and staff programs. Lakeview is a great school that provides an environment for students to excel both socially and academically.

It's Book Fair Time!
At our November book fair , we earned Scholastic Dollars totaling $1,282.92 which we used to purchase hardcover non-fiction books about animals and science. These books are leveled readers for easy reading which our students need . Our book fair volunteers helped make this happen along with parents and grandparents who shopped at our fair.
Volunteering at the Book Fair is one of the most fun and rewarding ways to get involved in helping students become better readers. We are in need of help for our Spring book fair coming 2/26-3/9.

A Canadian Lynx was in the Library!
In November, our students collected loose change to help support the habitat of the endangered Canadian Lynx. Jamie Flewelling and Amy Wicklund, our friends at Legends Taxidermy loaned us a fantastic Lynx mount so that our students could learn more about the animal up close. This large looking animal weighed only 18 lbs alive - he has a lot of very thick fur which makes him appear heavy. His paws do not have pads underneath, just more fur. He is a a beautiful animal. Our Lakeview students raised $465.17 to improve their habitat. Thank you Legends for bringing this nature experience to Lakeview.

Students from Mrs. Sniegowski's, Ms. Jarvie's and Ms. O'Connor's classes joined together for a Stone Soup celebration! Students brought in vegetables to clean, cut and add to their soup. They even made their own butter for their bread! Once it was all cooked, they enjoyed a feast together!
