Project Based Learning

In support of our district's mission, Ludington Area Schools have offered training for teachers through a PBL Academy hosted by Communications By Design in Ada, Michigan. This training has given teachers the resources and support to implement projects in their classes.

What is PBL?
PBL, or Project-Based Learning, is more of a "learning-by-doing" approach. According to Breanna Reynolds on Getting Smart, "In a PBL classroom, students are solving problems, participating in simulations, conducting case studies and designing research projects based on different areas of inquiry. Students are encouraged to investigate real-world issues and develop practical solutions in order to inspire change at the local and global levels."
